Who we are and what we do.

About Everest

Everest Learning LTD is a privately owned and licenced homebased Early Childcare service operating throughout Auckland. Funded by the Ministry of Education, we offer in-home childcare from birth to 6 years old.

We are a team of qualified Early Childhood Teachers with the commitment to sharing our knowledge of child development and curriculum. We visit with our Educators in their whare at least once a month where we offer guidance and strategies to support and extend tamariki learning. We hold regular playgroups and excursions where we also get to engage with Educators and tamariki.

What we do

  • Our Educators complete a robust induction process which includes police vetting of all adults in the home, First Aid training, safety checking of the home and being made aware of Everest Learning policies and procedures. You can rest assured when an Educator joins Everest Learning they are supported, fostered and given opportunities for growth and development.
  • We support our Educators to fill their kete of knowledge by face to face hui, webinar, support to gain Level 4, access to our educational library, professional development, first aid training and Educator Facebook page.
  • During their time with Everest Learning your child will have their own Taonga Pukapuka – their treasure book. This is for any stories, art, photos, treasures of their journey while at Everest Learning. We also use StoryPark which is an online platform where regular learning stories of the learning and development will be shared with parents and whānau. Some of these stories will also be kept in the Taonga Pukapuka and we encourage whānau to add to the pukapuka if and when they can.

Our Philosophy

Everest Learning acknowledges the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.  Our practices embrace and recognise the importance of bi culturalism within our service.  We celebrate our Māori learners and encourage and respect all cultures ensuring the importance of Tūrangawaewae is kept alive.  Everest Learning is committed to ensuring that Tamariki Mokopuna grow knowing they have a sense of Belonging (Mana Whenua), that they connect with their whānau and Māoritanga.  Tamariki Mokopuna are given opportunities to explore the world around them.  Tamariki feel that they have a place, that they are valued, and their learning experiences are meaningful and purposeful (Mana Aotūroa).

Tamariki Mokopuna have opportunities to laugh and learn in a nurturing and safe environment where no question is a wrong question.  Where they are inspired to learn and whakatōmene in their community and wider world.  Tamariki Mokopuna are encouraged to build lasting relationships and to learn and experience both theirs and other cultures (Mana Reo).  Whānaungatanga are valued, their thoughts heard, and their laughter embraced.  Everest Learning is committed to supporting Tamariki Mokopuna of Aotearoa to become confident, strong, competent learners.  The safeguarding of our Tamariki Mokopuna and their wellbeing is paramount.  This will ensure that Tamariki Mokopuna are free to learn and grow in a safe and healthy environment.
